Life Inside of You
This week in our daily Torah portion we are completing the book of Exodus. Today is a new day and a new month. Have you ever thought of the progressive mindset of God's work in the earth through His Covenants?
When the children of Israel were set apart by God, and formed into a community out in the Wilderness, the symbolism and expertise of what was being assembled was more than goats skins, gold, copper, bronze, acacia wood, and stone tablets.
The mind of God all along has been to be in a relationship with what He created. Ephesians 2:8-10 says it best.
"8 For you have been delivered by grace through trusting, and even this is not your accomplishment but God’s gift. 9 You were not delivered by your own actions; therefore no one should boast. 10 For we are of God’s making, created in union with the Messiah Yeshua for a life of good actions already prepared by God for us to do." - Ephesians 2:8-10
In 2 Corinthians 5 we see the comparison of the tent which houses us here is torn down, and we are now the permanent building that He resides in. How refreshing to see in 2 Corinthians that we are new creations and that what is being looked at by God is fresh and new and it is all from God Himself.
Since we have been studying the Tabernacle in the book of Exodus, we see in many places that God wanted to put His Love inside of them and write it on their hearts. God filled Moses, Joshua, and others with His Spirit to accomplish the work that needed to be done at that time in the Wilderness. He had them building a community of people that would serve, love, and worship Him alone.
"We know that when the tent which houses us here on earth is torn down, we have a permanent building from God, a building not made by human hands, to house us in heaven. 2 For in this tent, our earthly body, we groan with desire to have around us the home from heaven that will be ours.
5 Moreover, it is God who has prepared us for this very thing, and as a pledge, he has given us his Spirit.
17 Therefore, if anyone is united with the Messiah, he is a new creation — the old has passed; look, what has come is fresh and new! 18 And it is all from God, who through the Messiah has reconciled us to himself and has given us the work of that reconciliation," - 2 Corinthians 5:1-18
I want to encourage you this weekend to seek Him in Spirit and Truth. Take hold of the words that we see in the Word as we start fresh and new. Next week we open a new book of God's Word to study and begin to examine all that God wants us to learn and how it connects to us today.
"3 I thank my God every time I think of you. 4 Whenever I pray for all of you I always pray with joy, 5 because you have shared in proclaiming the Good News from the very first day until now. 6 And I am sure of this: that the One who began a good work among you will keep it growing until it is completed on the Day of the Messiah Yeshua. 7 It is right for me to think this way about you all because I have you on my heart; for whether I am in chains or defending and establishing the Good News, you are all sharing with me in this privileged work. 8 God can testify how I long for all of you with the deep affection of the Messiah Yeshua." - Phillippians 1:3-6
Be encouraged as your Father (Abba) has started the work inside of you, He will keep it growing until it is completed. Take time this weekend to feel the presence of His arms around you. Give yourself an opportunity to rest in the Holy Spirit's embrace.
Blessings on your weekend
Todd
