BIBLE PASSAGES
Leviticus 19:1-20:27
Amos 9:7-15
Acts 15:1-21
We see in our reading this week, the words of Amos. Amos said the following, “They will never again be uprooted from the land I have given them,” says the Lord your God. How providential we would read these words about how God would bring the people back to the land.
Acts 15:1 – 21 we find Peter discussing the need for the inclusion of the Gentiles into the grace of the Lord Jesus. Peter clearly showed us that, “God knows people’s hearts, and He confirmed that He accepts Gentiles by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us. He made no distinction between us and them, for He cleansed their hearts through faith.”
From these verses we see that we are included in the family of God through the Holy Spirit which is our seal. The cleansing we all seek comes from the heart through faith just like when God visited Abraham and he believed.
Questions for Reflection:
▪ Do I believe the truth of the words of God through the prophet Amos?
▪ How do Peter’s words impact my thoughts about my faith?
▪ Do I feel burdened by a yoke which I am not able to bear?
▪ Am I thankful for the undeserved grace that I have received?
