BIBLE PASSAGES
Leviticus 16:1-18:30
Isaiah 53:1-12
Hebrews 7:23-10:25
In Isaiah 53 we see this beautiful picture of our high priest who was slain from the very foundation of the world for our disobedience. Isaiah opens the chapter with the following quote, “Who has believed our message? To whom has the Lord revealed His powerful arm?”
All that is said in Isaiah 53, must be read through the lens of someone who believes in the powerful arm of the Lord.
This repetitive theme throughout our faith stands alone in our need to believe.
Hebrews 10 gives us a great charge of how to live our life, in light of the Messiah’s return to earth. “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise.
Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.” I find it encouraging to know that God will keep his promise ever since He engaged people and entered into relationship with them.
Questions for Reflection:
▪ Do I believe in the new covenant with Israel and Judah?
▪ Am I able to encourage others in their faith?
▪ Do I believe I can go right into the presence of God fully trusting in Him?
▪ Can I trust God as the day of His return is drawing near?
