The Increase of His Government

BIBLE PASSAGES

Deuteronomy 16:18-21:9

Isaiah 9:1-6, 49:1-6

Acts 7:35-60

The increase of David’s government there shall be no end. The message is very clear to see when you look at the prophets and the genealogy that Yeshua is the anointed one chosen to sit upon the throne. Jeremiah 33:3 reminds us that if we call out to God that God will answer us and show us great and mighty things that we do not know.

From Deuteronomy we were told not to pervert the justice of God that He would give us. Unfortunately the broken world and its deceptions lead us into temptations choosing the ways of partiality and delay the process of righteousness in our lives. We must not resist the Holy Spirit as He is working in us and in the lives of people in the earth today. He is the one that is drawing us and them to redemption through the Son of God, whose name is Yeshua.

In Isaiah 9 the master plan is laid out that tells us there is a great light that was to come (and has come). The power and mystery at the time Isaiah spoke these words took place hundreds of years before they were ever fulfilled.

The evidence is more than clear that from Adam to Abraham there are 14 generations. From Abraham to David there are 14 generations. From David to Yeshua there are 14 generations. We can be certain, based on the evidence, that the increase comes through our Messiah Yeshua and the government of David, through a covenant with Abraham who is the son of Adam.

“You shall appoint judges and officers in all your towns that the Lord your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment. You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality, and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous. Justice, and only justice, you shall follow, that you may live and inherit the land that the Lord your God is giving you.”Deuteronomy 16:18-20

“You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you. But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. And he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God. And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” And falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.” Acts 7:51,55-56,59-60

“But there will be no more gloom for those who are now in anguish. In the past the land of Z’vulun and the land of Naftali were regarded lightly; but in the future he will honor the way to the lake, beyond the Yarden, Galil-of-the- Goyim. The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone. You have multiplied the nation. For a child is born to us, a son is given to us; dominion will rest on His shoulders, and He will be given the name Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace, in order to extend the dominion and perpetuate the peace of the throne and kingdom of David, to secure it and sustain it through justice and righteousness henceforth and forever. The zeal of Adonai-Tzva’ot will accomplish this.”Isaiah 9:1-3,5-7

“He says, ‘You will do more than restore the people of Israel to Me. I will make you a light to the Gentiles, and you will bring My salvation to the ends of the earth.’” Isaiah 49:6

Questions for Reflection:

▪ Am I stiff-necked in my heart and ears so that I will resist the Holy Spirit?

▪ Do I believe what Isaiah said about the child that was born, who is the great light for all the nations to see?

▪ Am I interested in the increase of kingdom of David and my responsibility to sustain it through justice and righteousness?

▪ Have I yielded my spirit to God willing?

▪ What price am I willing to pay standing up for the God who created me in His image?

▪ Do I believe the Spirit is at work in my life?

▪ Do I understand that God’s plan for my life is to be full of the Holy Spirit?

▪ Am I willing to bring salvation to the ends of the earth?

▪ Do I believe that great light has shone on me?

▪ Do I see Jesus standing at the right hand of God because of my boldness in my salvation, in the face of my persecutors?
