Don't be Fooled by the World

BIBLE PASSAGES

Deuteronomy 11:26-16:17

Isaiah 44:11-45:51

John 4:1-6, 2:18-25

The job of the enemy, in the world today, is to fool us into thinking and acting in ways that are in sharp contradiction to the Word that God has given to us. The word “world” is just one letter different than “Word”. Our goal in claiming Yeshua to be our Lord is to be able to rightly discern the differences from being in the world and not of it and being in the Word and of it.

Today, God has set before us life. We must decide whether we will choose life, love the Lord and let Him release the life inside of us that He desires to give us. The world is going to do its job in deceiving us and operating in the principles that guide its path. The Holy Spirit that is in each of us is greater than he that is in the world.

The God of Israel that formed us desires to know us and is able to give us all that we need to overcome the world. The Word is more than able to equip us in rightly discerning that path that leads to life and life more abundant.

“See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way that I am commanding you today, to go after other gods that you have not known.”Deuteronomy 11:26-28

“Remember these things, O Jacob, and Israel, for you are My servant; I formed you; you are My servant; O Israel, you will not be forgotten by Me. I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud and your sins like mist; return to Me, for I have redeemed you. Sing, O heavens, for the Lord has done it; shout, O depths of the earth; break forth into singing, O mountains, O forest, and every tree in it! For the Lord has redeemed Jacob, and will be glorified in Israel.”Isaiah 44:21-23

“I will go before you and level the exalted places, I will break in pieces the doors of bronze and cut through the bars of iron, I will give you the treasures of darkness and the hoards in secure places, that you may know that it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, who call you by your name. For the sake of My servant Jacob, and Israel My chosen, I call you by your name, I name you, though you do not know Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other, besides Me there is no God; I equip you, though you do not know Me.”Isaiah 45:2-5

“But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all have knowledge. I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth. Who is the liar but he who denies that Yeshua Ha Meshiack? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also. Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father. And this is the promise that He made to us—eternal life.” - 1 John 2:18-25

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”1 John 4:1-6

Questions for Reflection:

▪ Who is the head of the Church?

▪ Do I serve Yeshua Ha Meshiack who is the head of the Body?

▪ Have I come to the reality with my own mouth that Yeshua is the Son of God, our Messiah?

▪ Do I know how to understand what is from God and what is not?

▪ Am I following gods that are not the one true God?

▪ What does it mean to follow other gods and therefore bring discipline?

▪ Am I being fooled by the world to follow the ways of man?

▪ Am I ready to follow the ways of God?
