Dead Sea - Biblical Experience

Did you know that the Dead Sea is 1,355 feet below sea level and 997 feet deep making this the lowest point on the face of the earth? The Dead Sea is the deepest hypersaline lake in the world.

Biblically, this is where Lot chose for his family to settle when Abraham and Lot separated as their herds grew too large to graze together. We read this in Genesis 13.

This is also the largest body of water Jesus would have viewed during his 40 days and 40 nights in the Judean Wilderness found in both Matthew and Luke chapter 4.
