BIBLE PASSAGES

  1. Numbers 16:1-18:32

  2. 1 Samuel 11:14-12:22

  3. Jude 1-25

"Moshe spoke to the people of Isra’el, and all their leaders gave him staffs, one for each leader, according to their ancestral tribes, twelve staffs. Aharon’s staff was among their staffs. Moshe put the staffs before Adonai in the tent of the testimony. The next day Moshe went into the tent of the testimony, and there he saw that Aharon’s staff for the house of Levi had budded — it had sprouted not only buds but flowers and ripe almonds as well. Moshe brought out all the staffs from before Adonai to all the people of Isra’el, and they looked, and each man took back his staff." - Number 17:21-24

This passage in numbers is a favorite of mine. The choosing of the staff from the ancestral tribes. Looking at the staff that not only sprouted, had flowers, and ripe almonds overnight. What a miracle. The almond trees are the first to bloom in the springtime in Israel. What a great reminder that The Father goes first before us making a way for us.

Trust in the Father is what is required. Being strong and of good courage. We are told many times in the Word, don't be afraid.

Don’t be afraid,” Samuel reassured them. “You have certainly done wrong, but make sure now that you worship the Lord with all your heart, and don’t turn your back on Him. Don’t go back to worshiping worthless idols that cannot help or rescue you—they are totally useless! The Lord will not abandon His people, because that would dishonor His great name. For it has pleased the Lord to make you His very own people. - 1 Samuel 11:20-21

Today, while the hour is at hand and His mercies endure forever, worship the Lord with all your heart. Return to His presence and put away mindsets that lead away from Him. Renew your minds once again, with the washing of the Word. Walk away from traditions of men and vain imaginations that exalt themselves above who HE is in the Word. Break free and look to Him- the author and finisher of your faith.

And you must show mercy to those whose faith is wavering. Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives. – Jude 1:22-23

Today, more than ever, the faith of people is wavering. They are not sure about whom or what they believe anymore. May we be mindful to point the way to Adonai. This visual will help them break free from the bondage of this world, by the power of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives.

Questions for Reflection:

▪ Is my faith wavering today?

▪ Do I have a heart for others along the journey of life?

▪ Do I know that God has plans to protect and prosper me where He has called me?

▪ Do I see that God and his Word always go first and provide an opportunity for abundant life?
