Week 36 Devotional

Updated: Mar 12, 2019

Our Devotional takes us to Week 36: In Zechariah 4:6 we read, “Then he said to me, “This is what the Lord says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of heaven’s armies.” Our job is to understand that it is by the Spirit alone that we are led and filled daily to make His presence know throughout the world. Finally, we learn what God has said about HIS REST. God’s promise of entering His rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that some of you might fail to experience it. For this good news—that God has prepared this rest—has been announced to us just as it was to them. But it did them no good because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God. For only we who believe can enter His rest. As for the others, God said, ‘In my anger I took an oath: They will never enter My place of rest” even though this rest has been ready since He made the world. We know it is ready because it mentions the seventh day: “On the seventh day God rested from all His work.”. But in the other passage God said, “They will never enter my place of rest.” – Hebrews 4:1-5 Questions for Reflection: Who am I resting in? How do I define rest? Do I believe I am doing the work in my own might or power? Do you believe the Spirit is at work in your life? Do you understand how much God loves people to worship Him relationally?
